Julep, $24.99 per month (US and Canada only)
Rosita didn't want to look at the camera! She's still cute, though.
Julep is a monthly beauty subscription that contains a mix of nail polish, skincare products, and makeup. Originally, Julep did only nail polish, but they've branched out over the years. Subscribers are able to customize their boxes, so you can get all nail polish, all makeup, all skincare, or any combination of the three. If you don't want to customize your box, Julep will put together a box for you based on your profile. Each month, Julep releases a new collection of nail polish and then either a new product or new range of products. You can choose any three of those or you can choose from a selection of past products if the new collection doesn't appeal to you. You can also add on additional products at a discount. Julep lets you skip a month or have a month of your subscription sent to someone else. Besides the monthly boxes, Julep also has a secret store for subscribers and offers subscribers a discount on all of their products. Normally, I don't like beauty boxes that feature products from only one brand, but Julep's skincare, makeup, and nail polish are of really great quality, so I make an exception for this box.

The gift box was worth $168! This box is available to new subscribers with the coupon code POLISHGIFT. I am not a new subscriber, but Emily was nice enough to subscribe to Julep for a month so I could get this box. The free gift is twelve nail polishes, all bright, happy colors perfect for spring and summer. I believe everyone who gets the free gift will get the same colors.
Julep describes Adrian as a daffodil crème, Jenna as a tangerine burst crème, and Summer as a cantaloupe sheer iridescent. I got these three in previous boxes, but all the other colors in the box were new to me. I usually prefer shimmer and glitter polishes to crèmes, but I quite like Adrian and Jenna. They are both very bright, cheerful colors and they go on smoothly. Summer is a lot prettier in real life than it is in the picture. It's very iridescent and has lots of shimmer.
Julep calls Ari an extreme fuchsia vivid sheer, Naveena a lush jungle teal jelly, and Regina a nebula pink iridescent chrome. Sheer and jelly polishes usually aren't my favorites. Ari and Naveena are okay, but they are a little on the boring side. I won't use these often. Regina, though, was my favorite polish in the box. It is beautifully iridescent and is a mix of pinks and lavenders and blues. It looks different depending on the lighting. In the sun, the shimmer is rainbow-y. I can't stop starting at it when it's on my nails.
Julep calls Madelynn an imperial purple shimmer, Lainey a summer berry shimmer, and Yiyi a pink freesia holographic jelly. Madelynn and Lainey are basic shimmers that are quite versatile. Madelynn is a bluish purple and Lainey is a bright raspberry. Yiyi was my second favorite color in the box. It's a sheer jelly, but the holographic sparkles really make it something special. The sun catches the sparkles and makes a rainbow on my hands. I used Yiyi with Regina as an accent and they went together perfectly. They are very similar colors.
Julep describes Eunice as an ultramarine blue shimmer, Acacia as a blue fjord chrome, and Meredith as a sea mist chrome. These colors are all okay, but they're not my favorites. Meredith is a pale robin's egg that borders on green. I paired it with Eunice as an accent and it was quite pretty. I like the chrome finish and deep teal color of Acacia.
I'm loving Julep's free gift right now! I already had three of the twelve polishes, but the rest were new to me. I didn't like Ari and Naveena all that much, but all the other polishes. Yiyi and Regina are my two favorite colors in the box. Julep puts together fabulous free gifts! If you've been thinking about subscribing to Julep, now is the time to do it as I'm not sure how long this free gift will last. You can cancel after one month if you don't like it, but it's worth doing the one month for this free gift alone.
