"There are no carrots in these squiggles?!"  Poor little thing just wanted a snack and couldn't find one.  She says that all beauty boxes should contain bunny treats.

The Makeup Edit is Terra Bella's new box!  The regular Terra Bella box will contain a mix of skincare, hair care, bath, and body products, while The Makeup Edit will be all makeup.  Subscribers can switch back and forth between the two boxes, they just have to do it by the 20th of the month if they want the change to be in effect for the following month.  The Makeup Edit will contain three or more makeup products each month.  The products are always natural and cruelty-free and they come from incredible small businesses that you probably wouldn't know about if not for Terra Bella Box.  A lot of people prefer their beauty boxes to be makeup-heavy or skincare-heavy, so this new setup is perfect for those of us who have strong preferences either way.  Subscribers often complained that the price of the box was too expensive, especially with shipping, but the prices have been lowered and shipping is now included.  I think this is a positive change and can't wait to see how it all works out.

Terra Bella Box sent me the July The Makeup Edit Box free of charge for review.  If you're thinking about subscribing, use the code BBBEXTRA and you'll get a free extra item in your first box!

Here's what was inside the very first The Makeup Edit box:

The July The Makeup Edit box was worth $54.65!  The sample of the Delizioso Skincare Lip and Cheek Shine was thrown in as an extra for subscribers and wasn't on the product information card.  There was a separate little card in the box telling you about this little bonus.  The three main products in the box were all full size.  I liked the product mix -- there's mascara, eyeliner/eyebrow pencil, lipstick, and blush all in one box.

Swatch of Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques Lip Colour in Sangria

Swatch of Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques Lip Colour in Sangria

The Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques Lip Colour looks like a deep wine color in the tube, but, as you can see in the swatch, it is quite sheer.  I would call it a lip tint more than a lipstick.  Most of the other Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques Lip Colours are not sheer and are regular lipstick.  It's pretty and long lasting, but I do wish it were a little bolder.  I love bright colors and deep colors and it is hard to find that in a beauty box.  I understand why because there are more people who prefer understated makeup, but a girl can dream.  The formula of this lip tint is very hydrating and made my lips feel extra soft.  Matte lip products can often be very drying, so I was glad that that wasn't the case with this product!

I'm so used to getting mini tubes of mascara in my beauty boxes, so it's nice to get a full size!  FitGlow Beauty is new to me.  The mascara gave me more length than volume, which is how I like my mascara, and, best of all, it didn't clump.  This has a rice bran oil base, so it contains antioxidants and vitamins to condition your eyelashes.  They also say it promotes growth, but after using it for only a few days, it's hard to say how well it does that.  If you avoid parabens and/or gluten, then you're in luck with this mascara because it contains neither of those.  I was impressed by this mascara and would recommend it to anyone, but especially to people looking for a more natural mascara.

The third product, the Delizioso Skincare Natural Eyeliner/Brow Pencil in Cocoa Bean, was exactly what I was looking for!  I couldn't begin to tell you how many black eyeliners I've gotten from beauty boxes over the years, so getting a brown liner is a treat.  While black eyeliner is great for when you want a sexy look to go out on the town, it can be quite severe for everyday use.  I wish beauty boxes would send out more browns, charcoals, plums, navies, and forest green colors for eyeliners  I had a taupe eyeliner, but I needed a brown eyeliner, so this came at just the right time.  As you can see in the picture above, it has serious pigment, but it can be smudged if you want a softer look.  This held up all day and didn't smudge under my eyes.  I'd love to try the other colors in this eyeliner line!  I haven't tried it as a brow pencil, but I have tons of brow products right now and need this more as an eyeliner.

The mini extra was Delizioso Skincare's Lip and Cheek Shine in Gorgeous.  I love that there was a bonus item!  I've gotten Delizioso's Lip and Cheek Shine before in a different box and liked it then, so I'm happy to have another.  Subscribers received either Gorgeous, a peachy pink, or Lust, a pinky red.  Be careful with this product as a little goes a very long way.  This gave my cheeks a natural looking flush that was pretty and long-lasting.  I believe they've changed the formula of the product since the last time I got it because it doesn't have the strong sweet vanilla scent the other one had.  I'm glad it is not heavily scented this time.  They also no longer carry the color I received the first time, Tara.  I tried it on my lips and liked the shine it gave them, but I prefer it on my cheeks.

The first The Makeup Edit was fabulous!  I'm really happy with this month's products and am looking forward to seeing what will be in the August box.  Unlike the regular Terra Bella Box, this box didn't have a spoiler card for next month, so it's all going to be a surprise!  If you're looking for more natural makeup, this box is a great place to start.  If I had to choose a favorite, it would be the Delizioso Eyeliner, but the Delizioso blush is a close second.  I liked the other products, too, but the Delizioso products were what I needed  most at this time.

What did you think of the first The Makeup Edit?  If you've been a Terra Bella Box subscriber, did you opt for the regular box or go for this one (or both)?  How are you liking the changes?  Watch for my review of the regular July Terra Bella Box -- it'll be coming soon!
