PopSugar Must Have Mystery Box (currently sold out, costs $19.95)
Emmett is all grown up! I was happy to have a big PopSugar box so Emmett could have a chance to model for you again. He's my most special bunny, so I love to show him off. Can you believe he was a teeny baby eight months ago?! Here's a picture of him from one of his first modeling jobs:
PopSugar Must Have is more of a lifestyle box than a beauty box. Each month, they send subscribers six products. Generally speaking, at least one of the six is a beauty product and at least one is a snack item. The values of the boxes are always quite high. It costs $40 a month, though, so the values should be high! They have a mix of things such as household items, makeup, food, accessories, jewelry, towels, candles, books, and the like. I don't subscribe to PopSugar, but they recently had an All-Star Mystery Box available. This is the first time PopSugar has had a mystery box. This box cost $20 and was a mix of six items from past boxes with a value of over $100. I looked back and saw what had been offered in boxes in the past year and liked what I saw, so I went ahead and ordered one. PopSugar's items are generally very giftable, so I figured I could give away whatever I didn't want.
Here's what was in my PopSugar Must Have All-Star Mystery Box:
- Govino Go Anywhere Wine Glass 4-pack (worth $22.95)
- Barr Co. Fir and Grapefruit Bubble Elixir (full size, worth $32)
- Deepa Gurnani Katie Headband (worth $56)
- Capri Blue Mercury Jewelry Box in Rain (full size, worth $18.95)
- Terrapin Ridge Farms Pecan Honey Mustard (deluxe sample size, worth $5.45; full size costs $7.30)
- Tiny Prints Thoughtful Heart Personal Stationery (15-pack, worth $21.60)
My Mystery Box was worth $156.95. That's almost eight times what I spent on it, so I'm very happy with the value. I liked that they had a good mix of products in this box instead of just sticking whatever was left over in here. There was a household item, a bath item, an accessory, a candle, food, and stationery.
Govino glasses are plastic, dishwasher safe wineglasses that can go anywhere. These would be great for the beach or a picnic. Although I love wine, these glasses aren't really for me. I prefer fancier wineglasses, but these have their place. I think I'll be giving these to a friend.
Barr and Co.'s Fir and Grapefruit Bubble Elixir smells really good, surprisingly! I love the scent of grapefruit, but fir isn't my favorite. Somehow, the two scents work well together. It only took a little of this to make a lot of bubbles and it felt very moisturizing and luxurious. $32 is a lot of money for a bubble bath, but it's a nice indulgence.
I believe the Deepa Gurnani Katie Headband was made especially for PopSugar. I can't find it available for sale online. It's a beautiful headband that is surprisingly comfortable. The picture doesn't do it justice. I have never been one to wear headbands, but I've actually liked this enough to wear it to work. I need a haircut and my bangs have been driving me crazy, so this came at just the right time.
The Capri Blue Mercury Jewel Box in Rain has a light, fresh scent. It's a little too subtle a scent for a candle, in my opinion. Once the candle has melted, you can use the cute little box as a jewelry box. You can see the little dots on the box above; these aren't holes, but instead are clear spots. It makes for a really cool effect when you burn the candle. I love the wooden top. It's the prettiest candle I've ever owned. I just wish the scent were a little stronger.
I've never liked honey mustard, but it's one of Emily's favorites, so I had her try it. She liked the nutty flavor; she thought it was a surprisingly good flavor combination. It's different, but in a good way. She used it as a dip, but it can be used as a glaze or sauce. It's pretty inexpensive, so that is also a plus.
Finally, there was a fifteen pack of stationery cards that PopSugar designed and Tiny Prints printed. These are like a postcard, just a front and back, not folded over like a greeting card. I had assumed these would be regular cards. They come with plain white envelopes. The design is pretty cute and they can be used for just about anything. The cardstock is of good quality. I don't think I'll use these all that much, but they'll be good to have around.
I'm really happy with my PopSugar All-Star Mystery Box! There was a fun mix of products and they were all useful and high quality. I wish I had ordered more than one. I know some people ordered five or more. The box contents varied, so I probably would have gotten different stuff if I had ordered a second box. My favorite product is the Deepa Gurnani headband, but I love the Barr and Co. Bubble Elixir and the Capri Blue candle, too. The honey mustard and the Govino glasses weren't really for me, but Emily is happy to have the honey mustard and I'll pass the wineglasses along to a friend.
If you got a PopSugar All-Star Mystery Box, what was in it? I'd love to hear what other people got. The boxes I've seen have all looked like a lot of fun.
