LaRitzy Box, $24.99 per month for regular box and $14.99 per month for LaMini boxes; ships internationally: add $5 for Canadian orders, $10 for other countries
My baby buns are growing so fast! This little Siamese Mini Satin is now 1.5 months old! She looks a little annoyed about having to model. Bunnies learn the important skill of the look of disapproval at a young age!
LaRitzy Box is a monthly vegan and cruelty-free beauty subscription. Their regular box contains four to five items, while their LaMini Box contains two to three. All subscribers seem to get the same products. I haven't seen any box variation besides color or scent. LaMini boxes sometimes have some of the same products as the full size box, sometimes have a product from a previous month, and sometimes have totally different items. This review is of the full size box.
Here's what was in my May LaRitzy Box:
- Bellápierre Cosmetics Diamond Top and Base Coat (full size, worth $15)
- Jacq's Organics Carrot Seed Face Toner (full size, worth $15)
- Manna Kadar Lip Locked Priming Gloss Stain in Lucky (full size, worth $24)
- GlamHer Booth 101 Large Powder Brush (worth $10)
The May LaRitzy Box was worth $64. There was a spoiler for a Manna Kadar Bronzer/Highlight Split Pan; it is even listed on the product information card. Unfortunately, there was a mix-up during packing and they included the Manna Kadar product that was supposed to go in the June box, the Lip Locked Priming Gloss Stain. LaRitzy said the highlighter and bronzer pan will be in the June box. Since I'm a subscriber, I don't mind, but I would be a little upset if I hadn't been a subscriber and the spoiler was what made me decide to subscribe to LaRitzy. I wouldn't have been as annoyed as I was with Boxycharm a couple of months ago, though, because LaRitzy has said the product will come in the June box and Boxycharm was never going to send me the eyeshadow that was in their spoiler. I also suspect that LaRitzy box would be more inclined to make it right for a customer who complained than Boxycharm was.
Bellápierre has never been my favorite company, so I was a little disappointed to see their topcoat in my LaRitzy Box this month. I got the Lauren B Dual Base/Top Coat a couple of months in my Petit Vour box and I loved that, and this just isn't as good, in my opinion. It works fine as a basic base coat, but it's not something I would buy. It didn't have anything that really set it apart for me as a top or base coat.
I've liked Jacq's Organics products in the past, so I was happy to see their Carrot Seed Face Toner in my box. Strangely, this was not listed on the product card. They had the Jacq's Organics Sweet Orange Face Toner listed on the card instead. They have a carrot toner on their site, but it is different from the one in the box. I asked LaRitzy about the discrepancy and they said that it was a mistake, the cards were supposed to have the carrot toner listed. It smells very earthy and the scent stays with you for hours. It's not my favorite scent, so I wouldn't use this in the morning, but I might use it at night before bed. It feels refreshing on my face and felt a little tightening.
At first, I thought this was a regular gloss. It's actually a primer, gloss, and stain all at the same time. I was excited to try it because I love liquid lipstick. Sadly, this color didn't work for me at all. It matched my lip color exactly. It wasn't even half a shade off. I wouldn't call it an MLBB (My Lips But Better) lip color because it didn't improve the appearance of my lips in any way. It was hard to tell how long it lasted because the color was so similar to my natural lip color. I would really like to try this in a different color because I liked how the formula went on and felt on my lips, but I need a color that doesn't match my lips. Bright, bold reds are more my style.
The last product was the GlamHer Booth 101 Large Powder Brush. Subscribers could get different brushes from GlamHer Booth, according to the product card. This is a soft, fluffy brush that picks up a good amount of powder and applies it to my cheek perfectly without making a mess or giving me clown cheeks. I had never even heard of GlamHer Booth before, but I'm now interested in checking out the rest of the brushes in their product line.
I had absolutely loved my LaRitzy boxes for a few months, but the past couple of months just haven't been as good. The GlamHer Booth brush was my favorite item. The Jacq's Organics toner felt great on my skin, but I wasn't a fan of the scent. I wish I had gotten the orange toner listed on the card instead of the carrot seed. I wanted to like the Manna Kadar lip stain, but the color was not for me at all. The formula was good, though, so I would like to try the other colors in the line. The Bellápierre base and top coat was okay, but nothing special, in my opinion. It felt like something was missing this month. The products were okay, but nothing really wowed me. I hope LaRitzy goes back to putting together amazing boxes like they did late last year/early this year because these past few boxes just haven't done it for me. They did it before and I know they can do it again.
What did you think of this month's LaRitzy? Did anyone get the orange toner instead of the carrot? How was it? If you got the LaMini, what was in it this month? I'd love to hear all about your boxes in the comments!
