Here's an adorable 10-day-old Holland Lop checking out the April Terra Bella Box!  The little one just opened its eyes earlier in the day.  So cute!  I wish they didn't have to grow up.

Terra Bella Box is a monthly natural beauty box that contains products made by small businesses.  Who doesn't love supporting small businesses whenever possible?  It's a great way to discover high quality products that you wouldn't encounter at Ulta, Sephora, a drugstore, or a big department store.  The full size box contains five or six products each month; the lite box contains two to three.  Terra Bella tends to be heavier on bath products and skincare than makeup, but there is usually at least one makeup product.  The curation is always spot on.  I love the mix of products.  The Terra Bella site promises that you're not going to be getting the same product type (e.g., face wash, moisturizers, eyeshadow, etc.) month after month.  That can be a problem with some beauty boxes, so it's nice that the owner works hard to make sure you're getting a good variety of products.  The shipping costs Terra Bella charges you are the actual cost of shipping, so it can vary depending on the weight of the box and your location.

If you get a full size box subscription, use code BBBEXTRA to get an extra product in your first box!  Also, right now, Terra Bella is selling a "Best of" Terra Bella Box that includes four to five products from previous month's boxes.  It's only $19.95, so it's definitely worth checking out.

Terra Bella Box sent me this box free of charge for review.

Here's what was in the April box:

The April Terra Bella Box was worth $61.50, which is a great value.  Small companies making beauty products can't afford to give huge discounts to beauty boxes like big companies can, so I'm impressed with the value of this month's box.  There's a fun mix of products this month. The box has a spring-y feel to it.

When I saw this little pot of shaving cream, I was wondering if I would be able to shave even one leg with this.  After using this, though, I realized I will actually get a few uses out of it.  The product in the container is dense and has an almost taffy-like consistency.  You pull off a little piece, get it wet, and then it foams up, so a little ends up going a long way.  The Queen Charlotte Soap Co. website says the scent of this, also called Queen Charlotte, is earthy, woody, and floral, and that really is the best way to describe it.  The floral notes come out after it's sudsed up and that's when I like the scent the most.  This product really surprised me.  I was not expecting much from this shaving cream at all, but I loved it.  I got a perfectly smooth shave and my skin wasn't irritated at all after shaving.

I got excited when I saw the Mane & Co. Polishing Wax because I knew my girlfriend, Emily, would love it.  I like it when I get something special in my beauty boxes for her.  Hair wax is not something I generally use, but it is perfect for Emily's hair type and style.  This wax gave her hair some light hold and extra shine.  I think this might be one of her favorite beauty box finds ever.  The scent of this is amazing.  It has essential oils of lavender, bergamot, peppermint, ylang ylang, and cinnamon.  The cinnamon is the most prominent scent, but you can smell all the essential oils in there.  I think cinnamon is one of the best scents ever, so I love when she uses this.  The scent is neither faint nor overbearing.  Besides giving your hair some shine and hold, this will hydrate your hair, tame frizz, and protect your hair during heat styling.  This hair wax can do a little bit of everything!  Emily got a haircut the other day and this is all she's been using since then for her styling needs.  If you're looking for a new hair wax, look no further because Mane & Co. Polishing Wax is absolutely fabulous.

Each month, Terra Bella Box throws in a spoiler card so you can see one of the products you'll be getting the following month.  The URBNBODY Tea Tree Foot Salve was the spoiler for April.  I like foot salves and lotions, but I have quite a few of them, so it's usually not the most exciting product to get.  I was pleasantly surprised by how much I ended up liking this foot salve.  I put a small amount on my foot and it started tingling after a minute.  I decided to put some socks on to keep the moisture in and then went to bed.  I wish I had taken a before picture because my foot skin looked embarrassingly dry and disgusting before I used this and now it looks significantly better.  This is exactly what my feet needed.  I found it to be a little difficult to apply because you have to rub you hair on it to warm it up and then apply it your foot with your hand.  It was hard to get enough on my hand, so I had to rub the salve a few times to get sufficient product to cover each foot.  I think it would be easier to use if it were in stick form like deodorant.  That's not a big issue, though.  The URBNBODY foot salve is amazing and will make your feet look perfect for sandals and flipflop season.

Next up was the Etherealle Mineral Contour Kit.  The kit included sample pots of a contour in Hollow, a blush in Romance, and a highlighter in Stark.  I've swatched the colors in the picture below.  The colors are pretty and the powders held up all day, so it's a good quality product.  While the product itself is great, the little plastic pots they use for samples are horrible.  I wish there was a cover of some sort inside the pot.  No matter how carefully you open up the hinged top, the powder poofs out everywhere.  It's very easy to get it all over your clothes, sink, or counter.  Also, while the pot size could work for a small eyeshadow brush, it is difficult to get the powder evenly on a blush brush because the brush is so much bigger than the pot.  I hope Etherealle is able to find a better way to package their sample sizes because these pots just don't work for powder makeup.  Their full sizes have better packaging, fortunately.  The makeup had great pigment and went on smoothly, but the pots they are in make them so messy and difficult to use that I probably won't use them often.

Finally, there was the Frisky Fish Essential Oil Roller in EXHALE.  The only ingredients in this are coconut oil, lavender essential oil, and eucalyptus essential oil.  This scent is supposed to make you feel like you are taking the spa home with you.  I thought the scent was okay, but not really for me because I just don't like lavender all that much.  Emily adores lavender, so she was quick to claim this.  You can carry this around to smell it whenever you want or roll it on your wrists or wherever else you may need.  I like the rollerball packaging a lot.  Essential oils often come in little vials and it is easy to overapply.  Essential oils are strong scents, so overapplying can be very bad.  The rollerball makes it much more difficult to overapply because the oils don't come spilling out.  Frisky Fish describes this scent as stimulating and says that it can help with congestion.  I would love to try some of Frisky Fish's other scents, especially FLY and SUPERNATURAL!  Essential oil products can be expensive, so I love that Frisky Fish is making them more affordable and accessible.

As I mentioned above, each month, Terra Bella includes a spoiler card for the following month.  May boxes will contain an Orglamix Blacquer Shadow and Liner and and Orglamix Eco Chic Bent Eyeliner Makeup Brush.

Overall, I loved the April Terra Bella Box!  The Queen Charlotte shaving cream, Mane & Co. Polishing Wax, and URBNBODY Tea Tree Foot Salve were all amazing products.  I liked the Etherealle contour kit samples, but I find them to be just about unusable in the pots they come in.  I'll have to look around and see if there is something I can transfer the powder to so that they are easier to use.  Emily really loved the Frisky Fish essential oil roller and will be keeping it in her purse.  The oil is high quality, but lavender just isn't the scent for me.  All the products ended up being hits for either Emily or me.  As always, Terra Bella had fabulous curation and put out a box that was perfect for April.  I'm looking forward to the May box!
