"Oh, FabFitFun?  I thought it was FabFitBun!"  Poor little Miss Ears thought that there was finally a subscription box for bunnies, but she was mistaken.  She looks so sad.

FabFitFun is a quarterly lifestyle box that contains a mix of full size beauty, home, and fitness items.  The box is normally $50, but I had to subscribe when I saw the discounted price of $25.  Unfortunately, the discount is no longer available.  The winter box had already sold out and the spring box had yet to start shipping, so they were selling a welcome box for new subscribers, which is what I got.  The welcome box, the FabFitFun website said, included subscribers' favorite items from the past few boxes.

Here's what came in my FabFitFun box:

The FabFitFun Winter 2016 Welcome Box was worth an amazing $350.27.  That's a good enough value when you buy it for $50, but it is absolutely spectacular when you buy it half off for $25 as I did!  You really can't beat it.

First up, there was the jump rope from FabFitFun and CosmoBody.  The jump rope appears to be sturdy and of high quality.  I have some nerve problems with one of my feet, so jumping is completely out of the question for me, unfortunately.  I won't have a chance to try this out, but I'll find someone who wants it, I'm sure.  There is always at least one fitness item per box, and the jump rope was that product for this box.

I've never had $80 earbuds before!  Truthfully, I just had the ones that were included with my iPhone.  I don't use earbuds often, so I didn't feel the need to buy fancy ones.  If a nice set comes in a subscription box, though, I'm happy to have them.  Subscribers could get the FRENDS earbuds in either black or white and with a couple of different metal colors (I believe yellow gold, silver, and rose gold).  Mine came in black with rose gold accents, which is what I had been hoping for.  I couldn't find the style of these earbuds, The Donna, on the FRENDS website.  I'm not sure if that is because they were an exclusive for FabFitFun or if they have been discontinued.  I always thought that I preferred old-fashioned headphones to earbuds because I find earbuds to be so uncomfortable, but the FRENDS earbuds were surprisingly comfortable.  Maybe I did need an $80 pair after all!  The sound quality blew my cheap earbuds out of the water.  I don't use earbuds for anything except watching cute animal videos in bed while Emily is asleep, so sound quality is not of the utmost importance for me, but I know it is to a lot of people.  If you need comfortable earbuds that have amazing sound quality, I recommend springing for a pair of FRENDS.

I've had Zoya nail polish before and have always liked their formula, so I was happy to get another polish from them.  Subscribers could get either the color Carey, a purplish grey, or Avril (shown above), a pink with a slight tan undertone.  I wouldn't have chosen either of the colors myself, but I don't hate them.  Avril is just a shade pinker than my skin color, so it makes for a very subtle manicure on me.  It has a pretty creme finish.  Unless you want a sheer look, I would recommend two coats of this polish.  I was surprised by how quickly it dried and how well it held up.  I'm very impatient, so how quickly nail polish dries is the most important factor in choosing a nail polish.

I got a small sample of the gorge* I'll Make You Look Amazing Daily Spray in my Birchbox back in December.  I liked it then and I still like it now.  Leave-in conditioners are always nice and it has the added bonus of working as a detangler.  My hair is good for now, but when it grows out a little more, I can get huge rat's nests at the back of my neck.  A detangler is a lifesaver when I get a rat's nest, so this will get a lot of use right before I go in for my next haircut.  This spray leaves my hair soft, shiny, and tangle-free.

Subscribes could get a 14k gold-plated Wren necklace in a heart shape, moon shape, or horseshoe and the gold could be either yellow or rose gold.  All of the options had a small black sapphire on them.  I was hoping for a rose gold horseshoe because I love rose gold and because Emily loves horses.  I was so happy that I got a horseshoe so Emily could have a cute little necklace.  She wasn't expecting it, so it was a nice surprise for her.  The one I got came in yellow gold instead of rose gold, but that wasn't a big deal.  The necklace is well-constructed and beautiful, and it has a chain that is the perfect length.  I wasn't able to find the same necklaces available on the Wren website, so I'm guessing these were made exclusively for FabFitFun.

This tube of Passport to Beauty Tibetan Goji Berry Advanced Anti-Aging Eye Serum with Retinol is tiny for an $88 product!  This is full size, believe it or not.  This is supposed to work as an anti-aging product that firms and lifts by stimulating collagen and elastin production.  Fortunately, you only need a very small amount of eye serum for each use, so this teeny tube should last you a while.  I would need to use this for an extended period of time to see real results, but this contains retinol and antioxidants, so it is probably effective.  Be careful with retinol products because, while they are great to fight signs of aging, they can cause some people to break out.  While this product is unlikely to cause problems because the thin skin surrounding your eye doesn't generally break out, it's something to be aware of so you can be careful to apply this only to the skin around the eyes.

This was a  sponsored extra.  I've never gotten a protein shake in a subscription box before.  I don't normally drink protein shakes, but I love chocolate shakes, so I gave this a try.  It doesn't taste bad, just tastes like chocolate milk.  That's all it is, really -- chocolate milk with a little extra protein.  I wouldn't want to use this as a meal replacement, but it's a good, tasty drink when you're on the go.

Finally, there was the $25 gift card to shoptiques.com.  I believe this was also a sponsored extra because it was not listed on the information card.  I've never shopped on this website before, so I wasn't sure what kinds of things they had.  It's a site that brings many boutiques together in one place and has a variety of clothing and accessories, so there's sure to be something on there for everyone.  I like that this is an actual gift card and not a coupon code that requires you to spend more money.  I haven't had a chance to choose what I want to use this card for yet, but I'm looking forward to sitting down and seeing what they have.

I'm really happy with my first FabFitFun box!  I liked everything in it and was impressed by the quality and value of the products.  I was planning on just taking advantage of the $25 welcome box promotion and then canceling, but I will probably end up sticking around for at least the spring box, and possibly more.  This box is more than worth the price and I highly recommend it.  I've heard good things about FabFitFun before, but I never gave it a second look because of 'Fit' being in the name -- I'm very limited in what sorts of exercise I can do because of my foot issue, so I thought this box probably wouldn't be for me.  I can't wait to see what I'll get in the spring box!  I hope they are all as good as this welcome box was.

Have you ever subscribed to FabFitFun?  What do you think of it?  How did the welcome box compare to the winter box and boxes from previous seasons?  I'd love to hear all opinions on this box because I don't know much about it.
