Goodbeing Review, November 2016

Goodbeing, $21 per month (free shipping to US; ships to Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand for $9 shipping)

These little ones are too cute!  They just opened their eyes this week.  They were happy to find out that Goodbeing doesn't send subscribers products that were tested on their cousins.

Goodbeing is a monthly natural beauty box.  Subscribers fill out extensive profiles  -- the most extensive I've seen from a beauty box company, in fact -- and Goodbeing actually pays attention to those profiles and tailors their boxes for each subscriber.  Most of the products are vegan, although occasionally some have beeswax.  Subscribers can select a vegan option in their profile.  Each month, subscribers receive four to five sample size and/or full size products.  Goodbeing sends out a mix of makeup, skincare, bath and body, and health supplement products.  Sometimes, but not always, there will be a product or two that all subscribers receive.  Several months ago, Goodbeing began allowing subscribers to pick one to two products a month.  They e-mail you to let you know that you have a few days to choose what you want to receive in your next box.  They have quite a few choices, so you should be able to find something you like, but you can leave it up to chance if you prefer.  This is usually one of my favorite beauty boxes each  month.  Also, if you're someone who likes to get your boxes early in the month, you'll love this box.  They always send out the box for the next month at the end of the current month, so you will generally get your box in the first few days of the month.

Here's what I got in November's box:

My November Goodbeing was worth $74.89.  At over 3.5 times the price of the box, I'm happy with the value.  Two of the products were full size, two were deluxe samples, and one was a small sample.  There were three skincare products, a makeup item, and a nail polish, which is a pretty good mix for me.  All five of the products were vegan.

One of the two products I chose for this month's box was the SquareHue Nail Polish in Hurricane 11.15.  I've heard of SquareHue nail polish, but I've never tried it, so I was looking forward to it.  SquareHue has their own subscription box and I've never seen their polish in another box.  They make 7-free nail polish.  I chose this beautiful metallic pewter color, but Goodbeing also offered SquareHue nail polish in Bird Fling 2010 (bright red creme), Desert Storm 1991 (light tan creme), and Vondelpark (a glossy deep purple).  I have tons of red polish and quite a bit of purple polish, so I decided to go with the pewter as I don't have a color that is similar to this.  This gave me great coverage in one coat (although I would recommend two coats for best coverage) and I couldn't believe how fast the polish dried.  I don't even think I need to use my Seche Vite topcoat with this.  I put the polish on, wasn't thinking, and reached into a bag to grab a cookie.  I felt my nail hit the bag and I remembered the nail polish and thought for sure my nails were ruined. They weren't, though!  They looked completely fine.  I had put the polish on only a minute before, so I couldn't believe it.  This has been on my nails for two days and there is just one teeny chip, which is good for me.  I'm really impressed with SquareHue's formula!

The other product I chose was the MyChelle Dermaceuticals Perfect C Radiance Lotion.  This is a new product from MyChelle, so I was excited to try it!  You get MyChelle products pretty often from Goodbeing, but I love their stuff, so I'm okay with that.  This has a really nice citrus scent.  It's a lightweight moisturizer that contains vitamin C, so it not only moisturizes your skin but brightens it.  I haven't used it long enough to see a brightening effect, but I found that it's moisturizing without being greasy.

Next up was the Noctua Diem Juniper Berry Purifying Mask.  This has a pretty strong juniper scent, but it's not bad. It's a Dead Sea mud mask and Goodbeing says it's ideal for those with oily and/or acne-prone skin.  You apply a thin layer of the mud after washing your face, allow it to dry for 15 to 20 minutes, then rinse it off.  It's supposed to clean out your pores and hydrate your skin.  My face felt extra clean after using this.  I love mud masks, so Goodbeing chose a great product for me.

The Zyderma HS Clarifying Cream is supposed to be used after serums but before moisturizers.  It's perfect for acne-prone skin.  Zyderma says it will soothe skin, promote healing, and kill off harmful bacteria.  I've only used this for a few days and it seems to be making my face heal from an annoying breakout faster than usual.  I wish the sample of this was bigger!  This doesn't smell very good at all, but the scent goes away after it's absorbed into your skin.  If you're a Goodbeing subscriber and interested in this product, this is one of the sample choice items for December.  The sample choice is open until the 14th, so act quickly.  I gave some thought to choosing this as one of my December sample choices, but I decided I would rather try something new.

Last but not least was the Au Naturale Rose Gold Highlighter.  This is pretty and gives you some subtle shimmer, but it's a little dark for me to use as a highlighter.  I'll probably use it more for blush.  The cream formula is a little on the dry side and I had some trouble getting it out of the pot and onto my skin.  The full size comes in stick form, and I imagine it would be much easier to use it that way.

I'm loving my November Goodbeing box!  They do such a good job curating my boxes.  I think Goodbeing is one of the few boxes that actually pays attention to subscribers' profiles.  My favorite products this month are the Zyderma HS Clarifying Cream and the SquareHue nail polish.  I love the MyChelle moisturizer and the Noctua Diem mask, too, but not quite as much.  The Au Naturale highlighter is okay, but it's not the best color for me.  I haven't gotten many of my November boxes in yet, but I'm pretty sure this will be one of my favorites this month.
