Mommy Mailbox Review, December 2016

Mommy Mailbox, $33.95 per month (free shipping to US; add $10.50 for shipping to Canada)

This baby bun wasn't quite as enthusiastic a model as some of the others!  She just wanted to sit there and look annoyed while I took her picture.  She didn't even try to eat the squiggles in the box!  She's still a cutie, though.

Mommy Mailbox is a monthly lifestyle box that reminds me a little bit of PopSugar.  Don't let the name scare you away -- this box would work for most women, whether they are moms or not.  It is called Mommy Mailbox because each month, a different blogger who is a mother curates the box.  It contains little treats that are a mix of beauty products, snacks, jewelry, accessories, home goods, and the like.  All subscribers receive the same products.  Right now, Mommy Mailbox is having a sale on subscriptions for the holidays.  If you're interested in subscribing, I'd recommend acting quickly as I don't know how long the sale will last.  Here's a link to the sale page.

Mommy Mailbox sent me this box free of charge for review.

Here's what I got this month:

My December Mommy Mailbox was worth $101.67!  That's almost three times the price of the box, so I'm very happy with the value.  This month, we got three beauty products, a snack, and a piece of jewelry.  This month's guest curator was Casi Densmore-Koon, who runs cupcakeMAG.

The first product was GLOW for a Cause's Facial Nourishing Cream in Calendula and Citrus.  This might be the best smelling moisturizer I've ever used.  I love citrus scents, so this was perfect for me.  The cream is thick and very moisturizing, but it isn't greasy and it absorbs quickly.  At $38, it might seem a little pricey, but it's a 2.5 oz container, so you get a lot of product for your money.  This is my new favorite moisturizer.

Next up is the Olive + Piper Classic Crystal Bangle in Rose Gold.  The rose gold is a Mommy Mailbox exclusive!  They have a gold and silver version available on the Olive + Piper website, so you could get all three and go for a pretty mixed metal look.  The bracelets are plated with 14k gold.  At $28, they're quite affordable.  When I saw this bracelet, I thought it was going to be stiff, but it's actually very flexible and should fit wrists of most sizes.  This is a beautiful little piece that has gotten me a lot of compliments.

I've never had a makeup brush like the Sweep Beauty Oval Face Brush!  Sweep Beauty recommends using this brush to apply highlighter or bronzer and to blend in liquid foundation.  I haven't tried this on my foundation yet, but it worked well for highlighter.  It applied the perfect amount of highlighter and blended it in well.

Swatch of Manna Kadar Cosmetics Paradise Blush

We've seen a lot of Manna Kadar in boxes lately, but this is our first time seeing the Paradise Blush as it's brand new!  It's so new it's not yet available for sale on the Manna Kadar website.  This blush looks like a deep pink, but it ended up looking almost peachy-pink when it was on my cheeks.  It looked kind of like a matte version of NARS Orgasm on me.  It was a very flattering color and it lasted all day.  It's buildable, so I think the people of all complexions could use it.

The last product was a sweet treat from Jo's Candies, Peppermint Bark!  I love peppermint, so I was excited to try this.  You can't see it in the picture above, but the bottom layer is dark chocolate, then it's topped with a layer of white bark with peppermint candy cane pieces.  This was yummy, but I wish it had a bit more sweetness to it and that there were more candy cane pieces on it.

December was a fantastic month for Mommy Mailbox!  I loved everything in the box.  My favorite product was the GLOW for a Cause Facial Nourishing Cream in Calendula and Citrus, followed closely by the Olive + Piper Classic Crystal Bangle.  This box is a great treat for most women, whether they are mothers or not.  It's fun having a different curator each month and seeing what they come up with!

Does anyone else get Mommy Mailbox?  What did you think of the December box?
