It's somehow already the end of October, so it's time for the end of the month wrap-up of all the beauty boxes I got this month.  I only include the monthly boxes in this, so any limited edition or mystery boxes (such as the PopSugar All-Star Mystery Box from yesterday) aren't included.  Normally, I include only boxes that are for the month and that I got in the month, so, if I got a September box late and it didn't make it into the September wrap-up, I wouldn't include it in the October wrap-up, but I've made an exception for Terra Bella Box this month.  My mail got messed up a bit with a recent move, so I got the September Terra Bella in October.  I really liked the box, though, so I decided to include it in the October wrap-up.  I'll give you a quick rundown of all the monthly boxes I got and then I'll choose favorite boxes and products at the end of this post.  My goal is always to choose just one favorite box and product, but that never happens.  If you want more detailed information about the box or if you want links to the box's or products' websites, I've included a link in each of the mini reviews below so you can click through to my full review of the box this month.  While I'll mostly just be giving quick recaps, I'll also note if my opinions on any products have changed since the original review.  I have limited time to try a product before reviewing it, so sometimes I'll use it more after reviewing it and find that I like it more or less than I had originally thought, so I'll let you know if that has happened.

Okay, on to the wrap-up!

My October Birchbox was one of the better Birchboxes I've gotten!  I absolutely loved the Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask.  I just put the mask on again after I wrote that last sentence because it reminded me of how fabulous it was.  You put the gel mask on your face for twenty to thirty minutes, then rinse it off.  I couldn't believe how soft and smooth it left my skin feelling!  The rose scent of The Organic Pharmacy Double Rose Rejuvenating Face Cream was beautiful and the cream was lightweight, but effective.  If you don't like strong rose scents, though, it's not going to be for you.  I wasn't expecting to like the Number 4 Fluoro5 Elixer Restore and Repair Oil, but it made my hair extra soft and shiny without weighing it down or making it feel greasy.  While the MAKE Silk Cream Lipstick in Taffy wasn't a color I would choose for myself, it ended up being very flattering on me and I liked the lipstick formula.  The Hustle Butter Luxe was the only product that I didn't love in the October Birchbox.  It's a moisturizer that you're supposed to be able to use on your face or body, but it was much too thick and greasy for me to use on my face.  I'll have to use it on my dry, cracked hands this winter.  Four out of the five Birchbox products this month were amazing, so no complaints here.  I've found that they've been sending me better boxes since they overhauled their points system.  I wish they hadn't changed their points system, but I'm willing to tolerate it if they're going to send me better boxes.

As for my October ipsy Glam Bag, I was surprised by how much I liked it.  When I first saw the contents of my October Glam Bag, I was not impressed, but the products ended up being a lot better than I expected.  I love when that happens. I didn't think I would like the Beauté Basics Eyeshadow in Satin Taupe at all, but it ended up being my favorite product in the bag.  It had excellent pigment and staying power.  The Essence eyeliner wasn't my favorite eyeliner ever, but it certainly wasn't bad for $2.99.  It reminded me a little of Kat Von D Inked eyeliner, but it didn't go on as smoothly as last quite as long.  You can't beat the price, though!  I've tried the Patchology Eye Gels before and they're okay.  They hydate my undereye area and help with puffiness, so I'll use them if I have them around.  theBalm's Hot Mama Blush looked very peach in the pan, but went on pink.  I loved the color and found that it was buildable, so you can go subtle, dramatic, or anywhere in between.  The final product was the ModelCo Instant Brows Brow Pencil in Light/Medium.  I was worried it would be a little too light on me, but it filled my eyebrows in and blended easily to give me full but natural looking brows.  While none of the ipsy products are my absolute favorites, I liked them all, which is great considering I thought that I was going to hate everything this month.

The Glossybox this month was better than it has been, in my opinion, but it still wasn't amazing.  The Masque Bar by Look Beauty Anti Blemish-Prone Mud Mask was my favorite Glossybox product this month.  It is a lightweight mud mask that helps fight acne.  I didn't see immediate results, but I did notice some improvement, so I liked this more than I thought I had when I originally reviewed it.  I liked the Emité Makeup Lip and Cheek Tint as it gave my cheeks some healthy rosiness.  It was much too subtle for me to use on my lips even when I tried building it up, but, if you want your lips just a shade pinker, this might be perfect for you.  I liked the UNANI Il-lluminate Milk Cleanser, but it was nothing special, just your average face wash.  Normally, I love OGX products, but I don't need a root booster, so the one Glossybox sent to me ended up going to my mom.  I had originally thought that all Glossybox subscribers received a full size OGX product, but I found out that some subscribers, including my mom, received the Chuda Healing Hydrating Cream instead.  If you got the Chuda cream, how was it?  The final product, the Decléor Aromessence Neroli Hydrating Oil Serum, was not for me at all.  I got this same oil in my August DermStore box and hated it then, and I still hate it now.  The neroli scent is strong and it is not a scent I like at all.  It also left my skin feeling very greasy.  If you love neroli and have very dry skin, this might work for you, but it's not going to work for most people.  It's sad that I think this is a pretty good Glossybox.  It's better than probably any other Glossybox I've gotten all year, so it looks good in comparison, but it really wasn't a great box for me.

The October Allure Box was pretty good, but, again, had products that I've gotten a million times before in other beauty boxes -- the Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask and Klorane Dry Shampoo.  In fact, I got the Klorane Dry Shampoo (albeit in Oat Milk instead of Nettle) in an Allure box a few months ago!  I like the Briogeo mask, but I'd love to try some other Briogeo products for once.  The dry shampoo is okay, but I've had better, so I always give my Klorane Dry Shampoo to my sister because she loves the stuff.  I did love the other four products.  The Spongellé Freesia Pear Limited Edition Buffer was made especially for the Allure box.  It had a soft floral scent to it and was very exfoliating.  I have more bronzey eyeshadows than I can count, but the Doucce Eye Shadow in Kristi had really good pigment and was a pretty color.  The Mally Volumizing Mascara gave me tons of length and volume without clumping, running, or flaking, so I'm loving this mascara.  The final product was the Tatcha Indigo Soothing Silk Hand Cream.  This has such a beautiful scent and left my hands feeling moisturized but not greasy.  Overall, it was a pretty good box, but I decided to cancel Allure after this month.  I understand I'll get repeat products here and there as I get so many beauty boxes, but it's a little excessive with Allure!  I get multiple items each month that I not only have gotten before, but that I've gotten many times before.  I'd rather get a box that lets me discover new products.  I've replaced the Allure box with Julep.

This might be the best  Play! by Sephora box I've gotten!  The fragrance I got this month, Tom Ford Orchid Soleil, wasn't for me at all, and I didn't find the Skin Inc Pure Revival Peel to be effective, but I loved everything else.  Too Cool for School's Egg Mellow Cream smells sooo good.  This product is supposed to work as a serum, priming moisturizer, eye cream, neck cream, and sleeping mask, so it does a little bit of everything.  I used this as a regular moisturizer and liked how it hydrated my skin without being greasy.  The smell is pretty strong, so this won't be for everyone, though.  I also was absolutely amazed by the Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick in Driver's Seat.  This has a very matte finish to it and was a little drying, but it stayed on all day and looked amazing.  The color, a warm medium pink with a hint of orange, wasn't one I'd normally choose, but it looked great on me and I got a lot of compliments.  The Nudestix Intense Matte Lip and Cheek Pencil in Belle made for a natural looking blush, but it wasn't the best lip color for me.  The final product was the Verb Leave-in Mist, which kept my flyaways in check and gave me a little added shine.  It is supposed to work as a detangler, too, but my hair isn't quite the length it needs to be to form rat's nests at the back of my neck, so I haven't had a chance to see how well it detangles yet.  Overall, I was happy with my Play! this month.

My first Dollar Shave Club box was fabulous.  I'd been thinking about joining Dollar Shave Club for months because of the high price of good razors.  I can't believe I waited so long!  There are three membership choices-- The Humble Twin, The 4x, and The Executive.  I chose The Executive, which is a six-blade razor.  The first month, I got a handle plus four cartridges, but, in the future, I will just get four cartridges per month.  I've never gotten such a good shave before.  Normally, even after shaving, I could feel where the hairs were under my skin, but this gives me the smoothest shave of my life.  At $9 per month, it's quite affordable.  The Humble Twin is $3 per month and the 4x is $6 per month.  You can get your cartridges more or less often if you need to if the monthly schedule isn't quite right for you.  I won't be reviewing this box monthly as I'll be getting the same things each month, so there's no point, but if I ever decide to change my membership to a different kind of razor, I'll do a review for you.

DermStore BeautyFix's October box wasn't my favorite ever, but it wasn't bad.  When I originally reviewed the NEUMA neuStyling Smoothing Creme, I thought it was okay.  I've used it more since then and am really loving it now, though.  This does a great job of keeping my flyaways in line and doesn't give me added volume, so it's perfect for my hair in the colder weather.  The Dermalogica Phyto Replenish Oil left my skin feeling soft and didn't leave any residual greasiness.  I'm looking forward to using this in the winter when my skin gets dry from the cold.  I was surprised by how much I liked the Juice Beauty Blemish Clearing Cleanser.  Normally, I'm not a big Juice Beauty fan.  This cleanser had that horrible green apple scent I hate, but it was very effective and helped me clear up an annoying breakout, so I'm willing to ignore the scent.  The beauty tool this month was a Danielle Creations Pink Glitter Compact.  It has both a regular mirror and a 2x magnifying mirror.  It was of great quality, but the pink glitter really wasn't for me.  My little sister loved it, so I let her have it.  I loved getting a product for my neck and chest, the Replenix Neckletage.  The neck is often one of the places that will show signs of aging first, so an anti-aging product especially for the neck is a great idea.  I loved using this, but the tube was pretty small, so I wasn't able to see how effective this product really was as it would take some time to see results.  The DermStore Lip Quench Original is an okay lip moisturizer, but it's way overpriced at $12.  I would recommend sticking to Chapstick. For the second time this year, DermStore sent subscribers LashFood.  This is a product that is supposed to encourage eyelash growth.  I used it only a couple of times the last time I got it before I completely forgot about it.  You have to use it regularly to see results and I know I will never remember to use it consistently enough to tell whether it works.  Has anyone had good luck with LashFood?  The last product was the Luzern Laboratories We3 Serum Absolut.  The one I got in the box had a strong burnt plastic smell, so I sent DermStore a note to ask them if that was how the serum was supposed to smell.  They said it wasn't and they quickly sent me a new one.  The new serum still had a weird smell to it, but it wasn't as strong.  I still haven't used this and probably won't.  While October wasn't BeautyFix's best month, it was also not a horrible month.

I've included the September Terra Bella Box because there were some issues with my mail due to a recent move, so it made it to me quite late.  I loved the box, though, so I wanted to include it in the wrap-up.  I'm still waiting on the October Terra Bella Box, but I think the mail issues have been sorted out and I should be back to getting my Terra Bellas on time in November.  The Wellborn Essentials Body Butter in Chai Spice was beautifully scented and left my skin feeling moisturized, but not greasy.  The Herbal Transdermal 100% Natural Botanical Makeup Remover for Normal Skin had a lavender tangerine scent that I loved.  It removed every last bit of makeup and didn't leave my skin feeling oily.  I liked the Cultivar Clean and Healthy Organic Dry Shampoo and didn't find that it left that annoying white cast to my hair that many dry shampoos do.  The final product was the Earthtastic! Vegan Lip Balm in Vanilla.  I was surprised by how much I liked the vanilla as it is usually not my favorite scent, but it worked for this.  The balm left my lips feeling very moisturized.  This was my first lip balm in a paper tube and I was impressed by how well the tube design worked.  The September Terra Bella Box was fabulous.  I can't wait to see what's in the October and November boxes!

The gorgeous October Kloverbox had the theme Hello October and the products fit the theme perfectly!  Lots of beauty boxes have themes, but oftentimes, I'm left wondering how the products in any way fit that theme.  That wasn't the case with the Kloverbox this month.  The People Towels Hand Towel was so cute!  I loved the tree design.  This is a reusable cloth napkin that you can take with you on the go so you always have a napkin but aren't using paper napkins that will end up in the landfill.  I love a good facial steam, so I was happy to get the Beatnik Naturals Organic Facial Steam in the box.  Facial steams open up your pores and help clean them out.  This was very relaxing and my skin looked great after I was done with this.  The MyChelle Dermaceuticals Pumpkin Renew Cream is a lightweight moisturizer that has  a pumpkin spice scent to it.  This isn't an anti-aging moisturizer, but I think it would be perfect for people in their 20s who want to keep their skin healthy and youthful but don't necessarily need serious anti-aging ingredients.  The Wanderlust Scents Luxury Roll on Oil in October Road had a nice apple pie scent to it.  I liked it, but it wasn't quite the scent for me.  My little sister loved it, though, so I let her have it.  The final product was the Good Common Sense Naturals Tidy Pumpkin Alcohol Free Hand Sanitizer.  This sanitized my hands without drying them out.  I had an extra Kloverbox due to some issues with the mail due to my recent move, so I had my first giveaway!  Meredith S. won the October Kloverbox.

The October Goodbeing box was fabulous!  The Pure Anada Loose Mineral Eyeshadow in Marsala and the HAN Skin Care Cosmetics Cheek and Lip Tint in Coral Hibiscus were my two product choices this month.  I love that Goodbeing is allowing subscribers to choose a product or two each month.  The Pure Anada eyeshadow was gorgeous.  The pigment was amazing and the color was absolutely perfect for me.  This is one of my favorite eyeshadows ever.  I chose the HAN Cheek and Lip Tint because I loved the one I got last month and wanted to have it in a second color.  The color I got this month, Coral Hibiscus, was pretty, but it was a lot pinker than I was expecting.  I was hoping for something peachier.  I got the OSEA Ocean Cleanser in my Petit Vour box last month, but this stuff has a beautiful scent and cleanses my skin without drying it out, so I'm always happy to have another.  The Annmarie Rosemary Peppermint Body Wash had a nice, fresh scent and was your average body wash.  The last product was the Daily Concepts Your Dual Texture Scrubber.  I found one side of the scrubber to be a little too rough and the other side to be a little too soft.  I would have preferred a texture right in the middle of the two so it would be exfoliating but not scratchy.  My October Goodbeing box was great overall, though.

Finally, October Petit Vour box had an excellent month.  The Red Apple Lipstick in Rebel! was simply gorgeous.  The pigment was perfect, it gave me bold, long-lasting color, and it was very hydrating.  The Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil is a facial oil that you are suppose to use in place of a moisturizer.  This was hydrating but non-greasy.  The sample was a little too small to determine if it was effective at fighting blemishes and signs of aging, but I liked the results I did see.   The Kahina Moroccan Beldi Soap contains only olive oil and eucalyptus.  The strong eucalyptus scent isn't my favorite, but this body wash will be great to use when you have a cold!  This was a very moisturizing cleanser.  The final product was the Apoterra Skincare Tulsi Rejuvenating Oil.  This is a body oil that they recommend you apply right after showering in order to lock in moisture.  I liked the lavender primrose scent and found the oil to be hydrating.  It absorbed quickly and didn't leave me feeling greasy.  This can be used as a bath oil or massage oil, too!  I loved the October Petit Vour and enjoyed all the products.

Now to choose my favorite October boxes and products!

It was hard to choose favorite products this month!  The list was pretty long, but I made myself limit it.  I ended up going with the Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask from Birchbox, the Red Apple Lipstick from Petit Vour, The Executive razor from Dollar Shave Club, and Pure Anada Loose Mineral Shadow in Marsala from Goodbeing.

As for favorite boxes, it was a hard choice, but I'm going to have to go with Birchbox, Petit Vour, Kloverbox, Dollar Shave Club, Petit Vour, and Terra Bella Box.  It's so hard for me to choose just one!  All of the boxes I chose were amazing, so I couldn't narrow it down further.

What did you think of the October boxes?  Did you have any favorites this month?  I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
