LaRitzy, $24.99 per month for full size; $14.99 per month for LaMini box (ships to US and Canada; add $5 for shipping to Canada)
This is my first LaRitzy box! This is a vegan, cruelty-free box. The regular box costs $24.99 and contains four to five beauty products, mostly full size, but with the occasional deluxe sample. They also have a smaller box, the LaMini, $14.99 per month, that contains two to three beauty items. I'm reviewing the regular box.
Let's see what was inside my first LaRitzy box:
- m.o.t.d. Cosmetics Large Shader Brush, Mr. Handyman (one brush, worth $12)
- Studio Aroma Cuticle Oil (full size, worth $12)
- Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish in Boy Tears (full size, worth $15)
- Bodisafe Hydrating Night Cream (small sample, worth ~$5, full size costs $25)
- GlamNatural Cream Blush in After Hours (teeny sample, worth ~$1; full size costs $28)
- GlamNatural Mascara in Brown (full size, worth $28)
- The Konjac Sponge Co Facial Puff Konjac Sponge (one facial puff sponge, worth $12)
The December LaRitzy box was worth about $85. That's a great value for a $24.99 box! The sizes of the GlamNatural blush and Bodisafe cream did not have the size of the sample listed, so I had to guess on the value of those. Five of the products were full size; they listed the blush sample and the night cream sample as being special bonuses. That took us to seven items for a four to five item box, so those were nice little extras!
The m.o.t.d. Mr. Handyman is a versatile brush that is meant to apply eyeshadow from the lash to the brow and to contour. This was a good brush to put some base shadow on my lid and up to my browbone. It's too wide to even think of trying to apply anything precisely, but it's good for hitting a wide swath of skin. The brush itself is soft and has high quality bristles. I would be interested in trying other brushes from m.o.t.d. There were several different m.o.t.d. brushes subscribers could get, so not everyone got Mr. Handyman.
Strangely enough, I've never gotten a cuticle oil in a beauty box before. I've never used a cuticle oil in my life, but I was looking forward to trying one. Studio Aroma recommends using this oil daily for best results. It has a mix of plant oils such as jojoba, argan, and primrose, and essential oils. There is a small brush at the end of the tube and you rotate the tube until the oil comes out onto the brush. You then just brush it onto your cuticles. My cuticles did feel more moisturized after I rubbed the oil into them. It is also supposed to help with nail health, but I haven't had the chance to use it for enough time to see what effect it has on my nails.
I mentioned in my review of the Holiday Glossybox that I absolutely love Trust Fund Beauty nail polish, so I was ecstatic to see another one of their polishes in my LaRitzy box! I have their lavender polish, a rose gold polish, and now a seriously glittery top coat from them. Usually when I get a glittery top coat, the glitter can be hard to spread around evenly and the glitter bits are rather sparse. The glitter is densely packed in this polish and it comes out evenly. The sparkles are gorgeous! I love this stuff. It could be worn on its own, but I recommend layering it on top of a colored polish. I also guggest putting a clear top coat over this after it dries. It lasts for days, but the top coat will help it last longer.
LaRitzy threw this Bodisafe Beauty Night Cream in as an extra. I love night cream, so I couldn't wait to give this a try. This product is supposed to be anti-aging and non-oily. While I wouldn't call this oily, I felt like my face was covered with a thin layer of wax after I used this. I did not like how it felt at all. It moisturized well enough, but I just can't tolerate the waxy feeling.
GlamNatural's Cream Blush was also a little added extra in the LaRitzy box. It was just a teeny foil packet, but there was enough in there to try this blush a couple of times. This is a deep rosy plum color and is much better suited to darker skin tones. I had to use a very light touch when applying this in order to not look like a clown. The color was beautiful and very flattering, but I would probably choose a slightly lighter hue if I were to buy GlamNatural cream blush. I found it stayed on well and looked natural. I would love to try this out in other colors.
When I first saw the GlamNatural mascara, I was disappointed that it was brown. I love dramatic lashes, so I buy only black mascara. I gave it a try, though, and was surprised by how much I liked this product. It was such a dark brown that I couldn't tell the difference between this color mascara and black mascara when it was actually on my lashes. It gave me great definition and length. I was impressed that an all natural, organic mascara gave me lashes that looked just as wonderful as more conventional mascara does.
Konjac sponges are perfect for washing your face. I've gotten a number of konjac sponges in beauty boxes and I'm always excited to get another one. If you take care of them, they'll last about two months, but I always like to have a backup for when the two months is up. Konjac sponges are made from tubers and are supposed to be excellent for your face. Some, like this one, are plain, while some have clay or charcoal mixed in for different effects. They gently exfoliate and help with acne and aging. They start out hard, but become soft and fluffy when you wet them. You can use them with only water or with face wash. Be sure to squeeze the water out of them after use to prevent them from rotting prematurely. I highly recommend giving a konjac sponge a try. My favorites are the ones with activated charcoal because those are meant to help with pimples. Have you ever tried a konjac sponge? What do you think?
I'm really happy with my first LaRitzy box! I loved everything except for the Bodisafe moisturizer, but that was thrown in as a little extra, so I have no complaints about the box. I'm so happy to have another Trust Fund Beauty polish! The color is so sparkly and pretty. I'd never heard of GlamNatural before, but I'm a fan of the company after trying both their blush and mascara. The brush and cuticle oil were fun and a little different. I've had more konjac sponges than I can count, but I always love getting another. LaRitzy had a good mix of product types and they introduced me to a few companies I was unfamiliar with. I can't wait to receive my January LaRitzy box and see if their boxes are always this excellent.
